The Best Supermarket Wines to Üllo

The Best Supermarket Wines to Üllo

This year Üllo’s wine purification technology will be turning 5 years old! In that time, we’ve certainly drunk our fair share of wine, both good and bad. Of the excellent wines we’ve enjoyed, there are a few that show the magic of Üllo better than others. So now that most of us are spending our days at home and visiting the grocery store more frequently, we thought this would be the perfect time to share some of the best grocery store wines to experience the magic of pure wine!

Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, Washington.

Can’t find this wine? Here are some substitutes:

  • Catena Zapata Chardonnay. Mendoza, Argentina
  • Clos du Bois Chardonnay. Sonoma County, California

Washington’s Columbia Valley covers around 11 million acres of land, making it one of the most expansive wine-growing regions in the United States. This also gives winemakers an ample selection of grapes to craft large amounts of balanced wines. Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Columbia Valley Chardonnay is a textbook chardonnay. With Üllo, this wine is ripe with flavors of lemon, bright apple, a touch of buttery pie crust, and some subtle oak. At under $10 a bottle and with distribution across the US, this is one of our favorite everyday chardonnays to pair with Üllo.

Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Marlborough, New Zealand

Can’t find this wine? Here are some substitutes:

  • Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc. Napa Valley, California.
  • Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc.

With nearly 50,000 acres of Sauvignon Blanc planted in New Zealand, it is no wonder that New Zealand has become synonymous with value-driven quality sauvignon blanc. The region of Marlborough on New Zealand’s southern island has the perfect mix of cool temperatures, sunny days, and a bit of wind to produce crisp and zippy sauvignon blancs. Oyster Bay has bottled a refreshing version full of citrus zest, honeydew, and passion fruit. Give this wine a run through your Üllo, and the pure flavors will pop even more! Don’t forget to partner this wine with salty cheeses, eastern cuisine, or in a glass by itself!

Meiomi Pinot Noir. Monterey County 60%, Santa Barbara County 23%, and Sonoma County 17%.

Can’t find this wine? Here are some substitutes:

  • Oyster Bay Pinot Noir
  • La Crema Pinot Noir. Sonoma County Pinot Noir.

It’s no secret that Pinot Noir is one of our favorite grapes. Thankfully, there seems to be more selection of tasty pinot’s at bargain prices in our grocery stores, and Meiomi has definitely become a favorite. Üllo’ed Pinot Noir brings a range of flavors to every sip. Fruity flavors of blackberries, cherries, and strawberry mingle with jam, vanilla, and oak to create a complex wine that will please nearly everyone and compliment most meals. The versatility and value of Meiomi make this a must-try with your Üllo!

We hope these wines get added to your shopping list and make staying at home a bit more fun! Feel free to let us know your favorite everyday wines that you use with your Üllo – we’re always looking for another cork to pull.
